This policy explains what personal information RetailerBox collects, why, who we share it with and what choices you have. It covers the retailerbox.com website, chats and emails with our team, and the services we deliver to Amazon and Walmart sellers.
Who we are
RetailerBox (“RetailerBox”, “we”, “us”) is an Amazon and Walmart seller services agency. Our team is based in India and works with sellers in the USA and Canada. “You” means anyone who visits our website, contacts us or works with us.
You can reach us about privacy at hello@retailerbox.com.
The short version
- Our website has no forms, no newsletter sign-up, no accounts and no checkout.
- We use Google Analytics and our own site analytics to see which pages people read and which buttons they click. We do not use advertising cookies.
- If you appear to be visiting from Canada, we ask before any analytics run. Anyone can change their choice with “Cookie settings” at the bottom of every page.
- If you chat with us on Facebook Messenger or email us, we receive what you send.
- If you become a client, you give us user access to your seller account. We never ask for your password.
- We delete client records 6 months after our contract ends, unless the law requires us to keep something longer.
- We do not sell your personal information.
Information we collect
When you visit our website
Our website does not ask you to type in your name or email. Depending on your cookie choice, it may collect some information automatically:
- Google Analytics. We use Google Analytics 4. It loads after the page loads and uses cookies. It records pages you view, how you reached our site (for example, a search engine or a link), general location (such as country or city), device and browser type, and when you click a chat button. See “Google Analytics” below.
- Our own site analytics. Our website records events in its own database: page views, which sections of a page you saw, clicks and how far you scrolled. Each event includes the page address, the page you came from, a random session code created in your browser, and any campaign tags in the link you used (such as UTM tags or ad click IDs). These events do not include your name, email address or IP address.
- Information stored in your browser. To know how a visitor first found us, our website saves the first landing page, the referring page, the time and any campaign tags in your browser’s local storage. It also saves a random session code in session storage, which is cleared when you close the tab.
- Your cookie choice. If you choose “Allow analytics” or “Decline”, we save that choice in your browser so we do not ask again for 12 months.
- Server and security logs. Our website host and our security plugin record technical information about requests to our site, such as IP address, browser type, the page requested and the time. We use this to keep the site running and to block attacks.
When you use our free tools
Our free tools (the profit calculator, tariff calculator, low-inventory fee checker and title checker) run entirely in your browser. The numbers and text you enter are not sent to RetailerBox. Our analytics may still record that you visited the tool page and which buttons you clicked.
When you chat with us on Facebook Messenger
The chat buttons on our website open Facebook Messenger with the RetailerBox Facebook Page. When you message us, we receive your Facebook name and profile picture, the messages you send and anything you share in the chat, such as your store name, marketplace, business details or files.
Messenger is run by Meta. Meta collects and uses information from your use of Messenger under its own terms and the Meta Privacy Policy. We do not control what Meta collects.
When you email us
If you email hello@retailerbox.com, support@retailerbox.com or billing@retailerbox.com, we receive your email address, name, the content of your message and any attachments.
When you ask for a free audit or become a client
- Business contact details. Your name, business name, email address, chat details, and the names and roles of people on your team we work with.
- Seller account access. You give us access to your Amazon Seller Central or Walmart Seller Center account through user permissions that you set and control. You can remove our access at any time. We never ask for your password.
- Seller account data. Through that access, we can see data inside your account. This can include listings, sales, inventory, fees, account health, reimbursements, advertising data and, in some cases, your customers’ order details such as names and shipping addresses. We use it only to deliver the service you asked for.
- Files and business records. Reports, product and supplier information, invoices, purchase orders and other files you share with us or that we create for you.
- Calls. Notes from calls, including the live call that comes with the free audit. If we want to record a call, we ask you first.
- Billing records. Invoices, amounts, payment dates and the payment method used (PayPal, Payoneer or bank transfer). Your payment provider handles your payment details. We see only what the provider shows us, such as the payer name, email and transaction reference, or the bank details on a transfer.
How we use information
- To reply to your chats and emails.
- To prepare your free audit report and hold the audit call.
- To deliver our services, report on the work and support you.
- To send invoices, record payments and keep business and tax records.
- To understand which pages and services people are interested in and to improve our website.
- To keep our website and your data secure and to prevent abuse.
- To meet legal duties and to protect our rights in a dispute.
We do not use your seller account data for anything other than delivering your service. We do not use your customers’ order details to contact them.
Cookies and your choices
Cookies are small files a website saves in your browser. Local storage and session storage work in a similar way. We use them only for analytics, attribution and remembering your cookie choice. We do not use advertising cookies.
- Google Analytics cookies (such as _ga and _ga_YDP70M8M21): tell Google Analytics whether you have visited before and group your page views into visits.
- rb_first_touch_attribution (local storage): the first page you landed on, the page you came from and any campaign tags.
- rb_homepage_session (session storage): a random code that groups events from one browser tab.
- rb_consent (local storage): your “Allow analytics” or “Decline” choice.
- rb_exit_triggered (session storage): remembers that a message was already shown in this tab, so it is not shown again.
Visitors in Canada
If your browser’s time zone or language shows you are likely in Canada, we show a cookie banner before any analytics run. Until you choose “Allow analytics”, Google Analytics does not load, no analytics cookies are set, and our own site analytics and browser storage for attribution stay off. Google also applies its own default for visitors it locates in Canada, so analytics storage stays off for them unless they allow it.
Everyone else
Analytics run by default. You can turn them off at any time: choose “Cookie settings” at the bottom of any page, then “Decline”. You can also block or delete cookies and clear site data in your browser settings. Our website still works if you do.
Google Analytics
Google Analytics is a web analytics service from Google. It uses cookies to collect information about how visitors use our website and sends that information to Google. Google uses it to give us reports. Our Google Analytics measurement ID is G-YDP70M8M21. We record page views, traffic sources and clicks on chat buttons. We do not send Google your name, email address or messages. Google Analytics keeps event data for no longer than 14 months.
To learn how Google uses information from sites that use its services, see Google’s page “How Google uses information from sites or apps that use our services” and the Google Privacy Policy.
Do Not Track and Global Privacy Control
Our website does not change its behavior when your browser sends a Do Not Track signal. You can turn analytics off with “Cookie settings”. We do not sell personal information or share it for cross-context behavioral advertising.
Who we share information with
We do not sell personal information, and we do not share it for cross-context behavioral advertising. We share it only as described here:
- Service providers who help us run our business, under their own terms and privacy commitments:
- Google (Google Analytics)
- Meta (Facebook Messenger)
- MochaHost (website and email hosting)
- Wordfence (website security)
- The cloud storage and productivity tools we use to store reports and files
- Payment providers. PayPal, Payoneer and banks process payments under their own terms and privacy policies.
- Amazon and Walmart. The work we do in your seller account happens on Amazon’s or Walmart’s systems. When we file a case, appeal, claim or application for you, the information in it goes to that marketplace.
- Partners who work on your account, with your approval. For example, a prep center that handles your inventory, or suppliers and distributors you choose to work with. We share only what they need for that job.
- Legal reasons. If the law requires it, or to protect our rights, our clients or others from fraud or harm.
- Business changes. If RetailerBox is merged, sold or reorganized, information may pass to the new owner, who must keep protecting it under this policy.
Search engines are told when we publish new pages through IndexNow. No personal information is sent.
Where your information is processed
Our team works from India, so the people who read your messages and work on your account access your information from India. Our service providers store and process data in the USA and other countries.
These countries may have different privacy laws from where you live. Information held in another country can be accessed by courts, law enforcement and national security authorities of that country under its laws.
How long we keep information
- Client records, reports, files and account notes: while we work together and for 6 months after our contract ends. Then we delete them.
- Chats and emails with people who do not become clients: up to 6 months after the last message.
- Invoices and payment records: as long as tax and accounting laws require.
- Our own site analytics events: 6 months. Older events are deleted automatically.
- Google Analytics data: no longer than 14 months.
- Server and security logs: for a limited time, as our host and security tools rotate them.
- Website backups: copies of our website are kept for a limited time and replaced on a rolling schedule.
When our work together ends, please remove our user access to your seller account. We stop using the account right away. If you ask within 30 days, we send you the files we hold for you before we delete them.
How we protect information
- We work in your seller account through user permissions you control, not with your password.
- Only team members who work on your account can see its data.
- We ask for only the permissions a job needs.
- Our website uses HTTPS, and a security plugin blocks known attacks.
No system is completely secure. If a data breach affects your personal information, we will tell you and the authorities where the law requires it.
Your choices and rights
You can ask us to:
- tell you what personal information we hold about you and give you a copy;
- correct information that is wrong or incomplete;
- delete your information, unless we need to keep it for legal, tax or contract reasons;
- stop using your information for a purpose you agreed to, where that is possible.
To make a request, email hello@retailerbox.com with “Privacy” in the subject. We may need to confirm who you are before we act. We reply within 30 days. There is no charge for a normal request.
If you are not happy with our reply, you can complain to the privacy authority where you live:
- Canada: the Office of the Privacy Commissioner of Canada.
- Quebec: the Commission d’accès à l’information du Québec.
- USA: your state attorney general or privacy agency, where your state’s law gives you that right.
- India: the Data Protection Board of India, where Indian law applies.
US state privacy laws
Several US states, including California, have consumer privacy laws. Many of them apply only to businesses above certain size or data-volume limits. Based on our current size, we do not believe these laws apply to RetailerBox today. We still offer the rights listed above to everyone, and we do not treat you differently for asking. If a state law does apply to you and us, we will honor the rights it gives you.
Children
Our website and services are for businesses and adults running a selling business. They are not meant for anyone under 18. We do not knowingly collect information from children. If you think a child has sent us information, email hello@retailerbox.com and we will delete it.
Person responsible for privacy
The owner of RetailerBox is responsible for protecting personal information at RetailerBox. You can reach them at hello@retailerbox.com.
Changes to this policy
We update this policy when our tools or practices change. The date at the top shows the last change. If a change is significant, we will tell current clients by email before it takes effect.
